HBAP's Sumsel-8 project received the 21st China Civil Engineering Zhan Tianyou Award. Vice President Director Dody Arsadian accepted the award in Chengdu, China, on 22 September 2026. The award is presented every three years for outstanding quality, safety, technological innovation, and green, low-carbon development. This edition recognised 100 projects, six of them in Power Engineering, including the 2×660 MW Tanjung Lalang Power Plant (Sumsel-8 MMCFPP) in Muara Enim. Sumsel-8 is the first power project outside China to receive the award.

The awarding of the SMK3 Gold Flag constitutes the highest recognition for a company's success in implementing an Occupational Health and Safety Management System consistently and comprehensively, in order to create a safe and productive working environment for all employees. However, the official award from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMNAKER) is still undergoing administrative processing, and these administrative matters do not in any way indicate any shortcomings in the implementation of SMK3 by HBAP at PLTU Tanjung Lalang.

Third place in the Off-Grid category (Power sub-category) of the 2026 New and Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) Awards from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, received on HBAP's behalf by Zheng GuoXiong, Operation & Technical Director.

The award recognises the 44.88 kWp landfill solar plant that runs as a hybrid off-grid system in the fly ash and bottom ash (FABA) yard of the power station. Together with the 162.25 kWp HBAP #1 solar plant, it has cut carbon emissions by 82.86 tonnes of CO₂ — the carbon absorbed by more than 3,300 trees.

HBAP received three company awards — The Best QHSE Safety Culture and Company Concerned 2026, The Best QHSE Sustainable Energy 2026 and The Best QHSE in Digital Innovation 2026 — and Deputy President Director Dody Arsadian received The Best QHSE Leadership Excellence 2026. The recognition reflects how quality, health, safety and environmental management is built into operations, from the supercritical boilers and flue-gas desulphurisation to carbon-emission reporting to the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources.

HBAP was awarded the Blue Rating in the 2025 Compliance Assessment for the Implementation of the Electricity Safety Management System by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia. This recognition reflects HBAP's commitment to complying with applicable electricity safety regulations and implementing a structured safety management system to support safe, reliable, and sustainable power plant operations.

Huadian Bukit Asam Power received an award from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Muara Enim in recognition of its contribution to providing employment social security protection for vulnerable workers. The recognition reflects HBAP's commitment to supporting the well-being of communities and expanding social protection beyond its core operations.

HR Asia named PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power one of the Best Companies to Work For in Asia 2026 for the Indonesia region — a programme that recognises organisations with the strongest HR practice and consistently high levels of employee engagement. The certificate of achievement notes that the award reflects the relationship built between the company and its people: a workplace culture that makes the organisation stronger, more efficient and more engaged than before.

PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power (HBAP) was recognized by the South Sumatra Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office for achieving 1,000 Days of Operational Reliability and Safety Without Internal Disruption. This achievement demonstrates HBAP's strong commitment to reliability, operational safety, and operational excellence.

Presented on 22 April 2026 at Hotel Mulia, Jakarta, at the Listrik Indonesia Award 2026 — held by Majalah Listrik Indonesia to mark its 17th anniversary — and received by HBAP's President Commissioner, Hageng Suryo Nugroho.

The award recognises HBAP as the most popular independent power producer pursuing a sustainable strategy, reflecting both the reliability of the power station and the company's commitment to responsibly operated, lower-carbon generation for the Sumatra grid.

Awarded at the Asian Power Awards 2025 in Malaysia. The award recognises HBAP's development and operation of Sumsel-8 MMCFPP in Tanjung Lalang, Muara Enim, South Sumatra — at 2×660 MW the largest steam power plant in Sumatra and the largest mine-mouth power plant in Indonesia.

Since commercial operation began on 7 October 2023, the station has run without a single forced outage while maintaining strong environmental performance.

Awarded at the Asian Impact Awards 2025 in Malaysia (17–18 September 2025), a competition of sustainability programmes judged against an international assessment standard using the La Tofi ESG rating approach. HBAP was honoured for its excellence in sustainable livelihood empowerment through the development of Desa HBAP — a village programme that builds long-term income for the communities around PLTU MT Sumsel-8.

PT Bukit Asam Tbk named HBAP its Best Subsidiary (Terbaik 1) of 2025 in the Agile, Going Extra Mile and Accountable category — recognising a team that adapts quickly to change, delivers more than is expected, and stays accountable for every step of its operations.

Presented at MIND ID Project Management & Sustainability Day 2025, the group's annual forum on project delivery and sustainability, held under the theme “Innovating for Sustainable Growth Through Downstream Project Excellence”.

Presented at MIND ID Project Management Day 2024 for the quality of risk identification, mitigation and control applied throughout the construction and commissioning of PLTU MT Sumsel-8. Disciplined risk management is part of why the station reached commercial operation and has since run without a forced outage.

Presented at MIND ID Project Management Day 2024 for embedding sustainability into project delivery rather than treating it as a separate exercise. Environmental management, community programmes and FABA circular-economy work were built into the PLTU MT Sumsel-8 project from the outset.

Presented at MIND ID Project Management Day 2024 — "From Strategy to Execution: Ensuring Project Success and Maximizing Value Realization". The award recognises the delivery of PLTU MT Sumsel-8, the 2×660 MW mine-mouth power station in Tanjung Lalang, as the best-performing project across the MIND ID group.

Received at the Indonesian Electricity Honorary Award Night on 26 September 2024 at Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta, for HBAP's commitment to keeping electricity supply reliable through a sustainably operated coal-fired power plant.

The honour recognises how the station's supercritical technology delivers high-efficiency generation while limiting carbon emissions and other environmental impacts.

The Government of South Sumatra Province named HBAP second best in the company category of its 2020 Investment Award — recognition that came while the power station was still under construction.
