HBAP was awarded the Blue Rating in the 2025 Compliance Assessment for the Implementation of the Electricity Safety Management System by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic of Indonesia. This recognition reflects HBAP's commitment to complying with applicable electricity safety regulations and implementing a structured safety management system to support safe, reliable, and sustainable power plant operations.

Huadian Bukit Asam Power received an award from BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Muara Enim in recognition of its contribution to providing employment social security protection for vulnerable workers. The recognition reflects HBAP's commitment to supporting the well-being of communities and expanding social protection beyond its core operations.

PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power (HBAP) was recognized by the South Sumatra Provincial Manpower and Transmigration Office for achieving 1,000 Days of Operational Reliability and Safety Without Internal Disruption. This achievement demonstrates HBAP's strong commitment to reliability, operational safety, and operational excellence.

HBAP achieved a Blue PROPER rating for the 2024–2025 assessment period from the Ministry of Environment/Environmental Control Agency. The certificate is dated Jakarta, 7 April 2026.

A Blue rating confirms full compliance with environmental regulations. For a coal-fired power plant it is assessed on wastewater quality, the management of hazardous and non-hazardous waste, air-pollution control, and the environmental management commitments set out in the plant's environmental permit.

This excellence is further strengthened by the successful achievement of QHSE Certification, which integrates aspects of quality, occupational health, safety, and environment into every business process.

The awarding of the SMK3 Gold Flag constitutes the highest recognition for a company's success in implementing an Occupational Health and Safety Management System consistently and comprehensively, in order to create a safe and productive working environment for all employees. However, the official award from the Ministry of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia (KEMNAKER) is still undergoing administrative processing, and these administrative matters do not in any way indicate any shortcomings in the implementation of SMK3 by HBAP at PLTU Tanjung Lalang, which has been audited and verified by TÜV Rheinland.

HBAP received an award from PLN on August 20, 2025, during the Energy Allocation Meeting in Lampung "As a Power Generation Unit Contributing to the Recovery System on April 30, 2025."

Awarded at the Nusantara CSR Awards 2025, organised by the La Tofi School of Social Responsibility, for PUSPASADA — the village waste-processing centre in the operating area of Sumsel-8 MMCFPP.

PUSPASADA combines community education, biodigester-based waste processing and local economic empowerment into one waste-management system that is environmentally sound, sustainable and of real economic value to the village.

At the China Electricity Industry ESG Forum in Changsha in July 2025, HBAP's case study “Huadian's Light at HBAP, Illuminating the Equatorial Lighthouse” took second place and was recognised as an outstanding ESG case by the China Association for Hydro Power and Electric Power Quality Management.

The case presented the station's real-time continuous emissions monitoring, membrane-based EDI water demineralisation that avoids liquid waste, and the PUSPASADA village waste-processing centre.

HBAP was rated Gold Kalimantan — the 81–90 band — with a score of 81 by the ESG Nusantara 2024 Forensic Council after it reviewed the company's environmental, social and governance documents.

The certificate was presented in Jakarta on 18 October 2024 by La Tofi, Chairman of the La Tofi School of Social Responsibility, to HBAP's Deputy President Director, Dody Arsadian.

PLTU Sumsel-8, operated by PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power, received a Certificate of Recognition from PLN UIP3BS on 8 October 2024 for its contribution to the power system Recovery System. The recognition reflects the plant's operational readiness and its role in supporting the reliability and stability of the Sumatra power system.

PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power (HBAP) received an award from the Indonesian Red Cross (Palang Merah Indonesia/PMI) in appreciation of its support and participation in voluntary blood donation activities. This recognition reflects HBAP's commitment to supporting humanitarian initiatives, strengthening social awareness, and encouraging employee participation in making a positive contribution to the community through voluntary blood donation.

Awarded on 19 September 2024 at the Asian Impact Award 2024, organised by the La Tofi School of Social Responsibility with Portman College Malaysia, for HBAP Mengajar — the programme in which HBAP employees volunteer to teach at schools around the power station.

PLTU Sumsel-8 2×660 MW received three awards from PLN in recognition of its readiness and contribution to supporting the reliability and stability of the Sumatra Power System through the provision of Automatic Generation Control (AGC), Free Governor, and the activation of the Power System Stabilizer (PSS) on Units 1 and 2. These awards reflect the capability of PLTU Sumsel-8 to support frequency control, power balance, and overall power system stability.

PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power received the Zero Accident Award from the Minister of Manpower of the Republic of Indonesia in recognition of its outstanding achievement in implementing Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) programs. The award was granted in recognition of the Company's achievement of 27,753,792 man-hours without a work-related accident during the period from 1 June 2018 to 31 December 2023. This award reflects PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power's strong commitment to fostering a safety culture, strengthening its Occupational Safety and Health management system, and providing a safe and healthy working environment for all employees.
