Students, teachers and the principal of SMA Negeri 1 OKU toured the power station to see how electricity is generated reliably and safely.
Muara Enim — PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power (HBAP) welcomed dozens of students, teachers and the principal of SMA Negeri 1 OKU to Sumsel-8 MMCFPP for a field trip under its Energy Education Program. The visit gives young people a first-hand view of a national strategic power station and of why energy security matters.
“Through the Energy Education Program we want to show how electricity is produced reliably and efficiently to meet people's needs. We hope the visit sparks the students' interest in science, technology and engineering,” said Gusti Prasetyo Rendy Anggara, Site General Manager of the power station.
Principal Muhammad Nasir thanked the plant's management: “This visit opened the eyes of our students and teachers to how complex and important the power industry is. It is a truly inspiring lesson outside the classroom.”
Under close supervision to health, safety and environment (HSE) standards, the students toured the operating area and then joined an open discussion with the plant's technical team. HBAP intends to continue the programme as a bridge between industry and education in South Sumatra.
