PLTU Tanjung Lalang Success First Synchronization

Thanks to the cooperation and support of all related parties, at precisely 00.16 on Thursday, July 20, 2023, Unit #1 of PLTU Tanjung Lalang (2 x 660 MW Sumsel-8) succeeded in carrying out First Synchronization (synchronization/connection for the first time with the Sumatra electricity network).

This is one of the most important milestones for the Sumsel-8 Project toward readiness for commercial operations, scheduled for August 2023.

Previously, this Independent Power Producer (IPP) plant had received feed power from PLN (backfeeding) through a 275 kV network on May 7, 2023, for all phases of the commissioning test.

The ability to supply electricity from the Tanjung Lalang PLTU will further strengthen the Sumatra electricity system and increase the reliability of national energy independence.
