Field Work Visit of Stakeholders in the context of monitoring the preparation of COD PLTU MT Sumsel-8

Tanjung Lalang, August 4, 2023, Director General of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Jisman P Hutajulu, together with Deputy Main Director of MIND ID Dany Amrul Ichdan, Director of Project Management, New and Renewable Energy PLN Wiluyo Kusdwiharto, and Director of Business Development of PTBA Rafli Yandra, paid a working visit to the Project PLTU Tanjung Lalang 2x660 MW (Sumsel-8) site managed by PT Huadian Bukit Asam Power (HBAP).

The visit was welcomed by President Director of HBAP Gu Qiucheng, Vice President Director Dody Arsadian, Site General Manager Gusti Anggara, and Corporate Secretary Nike Destia.

In this activity, the Director General of Electricity, Jisman P Hutajulu, said, "Hopefully, this (PLTU MT Sumsel-8) can be COD soon; we have agreed on September 7, 2023. Hopefully, there will be no delay, and there will be a solution for the evacuation." He thanked and appreciated HBAP for the progress of the project, which will soon be completed.

On the same occasion, Deputy Main Director of BUMN Holding Mining, PT Mineral Industri Indonesia (Persero) or MIND ID, Dany Amrul Ichdan, in his remarks, said, "The Tanjung Lalang PLTU is a masterpiece of Indonesian BUMN for the Indonesian people because it is following MIND ID's Noble Purpose. Namely, We Explore Natural Resources for Civilization, Prosperity, and a Brighter Future. The PLTU MT Sumsel-8 project is a PSN intended for the Indonesian people, especially to fulfill the electricity supply in Sumatra. Starting from Aceh to Lampung, we fulfill both the industry's and general public's needs." He also said that the Tanjung Lalang PLTU is Indonesia's largest Mine Mouth PLTU. Being at the mouth of the mine will facilitate the primary energy supply chain and the production process. Finally, he said that the Tanjung Lalang PLTU manifested the collaboration between the synergy of Indonesian BUMNs working with Chinese BUMNs. This will create an important stepping stone for BUMN and make the MT Sumsel-8 PLTU project a master model that can be used as an example for similar projects in the future.
