HBAP Employees Unite to Support Sumatra Disaster Victims
Sumatera Barat, 17 Dec 2025 · Community
Through care and collaboration, we are committed to continuously being present and providing support to the community.
In times of crisis, solidarity often emerges from the simplest acts of compassion. This spirit was reflected through a collective initiative by HBAP employees, who voluntarily came together to provide support for victims of natural disasters in Sumatra.
Driven by a shared sense of empathy, employees organized a donation initiative aimed at assisting victims as they began the process of recovery. The initiative quickly gained participation from across the company, reflecting the strong culture of care and togetherness within HBAP.
Prior to distributing the assistance, the HBAP team coordinated with the PTBA Rescue Team and Serikat Pegawai Bukit Asam to better understand the most urgent needs on the ground. Based on this coordination, it was found that food supplies had already been widely provided by various organizations. Therefore, HBAP employees focused their support on practical equipment and household necessities that could help victims restore their daily activities and clean their homes following the disaster.
The assistance included water storage tanks (tedmon), wheelbarrows (arko), and cleaning equipment such as brooms, mops, and rubber scrapers to support post-disaster clean-up efforts. In addition, HBAP employees also provided essential household items including cooking oil, biscuits, buckets, plastic cups and plates, plastic kettles, and plastic storage boxes.
The aid distribution was carried out in two stages. On 16 December 2025, HBAP representatives officially handed over the assistance to the Governor of West Sumatra, marking the company’s support for the coordinated disaster response led by the provincial government. The following day, on 17 December 2025, the assistance was delivered directly to several disaster relief posts in affected areas, ensuring that the supplies could reach victims in need.
Representing HBAP, Mia Monasari, Director of Human Resources & General Affairs, expressed appreciation for the solidarity demonstrated by employees in responding to the humanitarian situation.
“This initiative reflects the compassion and unity of HBAP employees. We hope that the assistance provided can help ease the recovery process and bring encouragement to those affected by the disaster,” said Mia Monasari.
Beyond the assistance itself, the initiative represents the collective commitment of HBAP employees to stand alongside disaster victims during challenging times. Through actions driven by empathy and cooperation, the company continues to foster a culture of care while contributing positively to society.
