The spirit of Ramadan brought together hundreds of people at the Sumsel-8 Power Plant as HBAP hosted a Ramadan Gathering and Grand Iftar, creating an evening filled with reflection, solidarity, and a shared sense of community.
Held at the Culture & Sport Building, Sumsel-8 Site, the event gathered approximately 400 participants, including employees of HBAP, operations and maintenance (OM) personnel, as well as subcontractor teams involved in the operation of the power plant. The gathering served as an opportunity to strengthen relationships across the entire operational community supporting the Sumsel-8 project.
The event was also attended by local government and community leaders, including the Subdistrict Head (Camat), Police Chief (Kapolsek), and Military Commander (Danramil). In addition, the Village Heads of the company’s ring-1 communities — Tanjung Lalang, Pulau Panggung, Penyandingan, and Tanjung Karangan — were also present, reflecting the close relationship between the company and surrounding communities as part of its ongoing stakeholder management efforts.
As part of the program, HBAP invited 40 orphaned children from the four ring-1 villages to join the gathering. The children received charitable donations collected through a fundraising initiative organized by the event committee and supported by voluntary contributions from company employees. The initiative reflects the company’s commitment to contributing to surrounding communities while embracing the spirit of compassion and social care during Ramadan.
A representative of the ring-1 village leaders, the Head of Penyandingan Village, Bapak.Kaidi expressed appreciation for the initiative.
“We sincerely appreciate HBAP’s attention and care for the surrounding communities, especially through the support provided to orphaned children. This initiative brings meaningful benefits and strengthens the relationship between the company and the villages around the Sumsel-8 Power Plant,” he conveyed on behalf of the ring-1 village leaders.
The evening program was further enriched by a series of meaningful performances and religious activities. The gathering featured a Tilawah recitation delivered by the first-place winner of the Muara Enim Regency MTQ, followed by a vibrant Hadroh performance by students from a nearby Islamic boarding school, creating a warm and spiritual atmosphere leading up to the time to break the fast.
The event also included welcoming remarks from Dody Arsadian, Vice President Director of HBAP, delivered alongside HBAP Directors, the Operations & Maintenance (OM) Leader, and the Site General Manager, emphasizing the importance of unity, collaboration, and shared responsibility in supporting the reliable operation of the Sumsel-8 power plant.
The evening concluded with a Ramadan tausiyah delivered by Ust. Syuryadi, SE., MSH, a respected religious and community leader in Muara Enim Regency. In addition to serving as the founder of Pondok Pesantren Ibadurrohman Muara Enim, he is also a member of the Muara Enim Regional House of Representatives (DPRD) for the 2024–2029 period. In his message, he encouraged participants to embrace the values of compassion, gratitude, and unity that Ramadan brings to communities.
Through initiatives such as the Ramadan Gathering and Grand Iftar, HBAP continues to foster a culture of togetherness and mutual respect within the workplace while strengthening relationships with surrounding communities. The event serves as a reminder that beyond daily operational responsibilities, the people behind the Sumsel-8 power plant remain united through a shared spirit of synergy.
