HBAP Strengthens Community Bonds Through Ramadan Safari Across Ring-1 Villages with a Noble Purpose.
In the spirit of the holy month of Ramadan, HBAP conducted a Ramadan Safari program across the company’s ring-1 villages, reflecting a noble purpose to strengthen social bonds and foster meaningful engagement with communities surrounding the Sumsel-8 Power Plant.
The program was carried out over four consecutive days from 10 to 13 March 2026, visiting four villages located near the company’s operational area: Pulau Panggung, Tanjung Lalang, Penyandingan, and Tanjung Karangan. Each gathering brought together approximately 250 residents, including community leaders, religious figures, and residents, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Ramadan Safari took place in village mosques that serve as important spiritual and social centers for the local communities. The activities were held at Masjid Al-Barokah in Pulau Panggung, Masjid At-Taqwa in Tanjung Lalang, Masjid At-Taqwa 1 in Penyandingan, and Masjid Al-Amin in Tanjung Karangan.
Led by the HRGA Site & Sustainability Manager together with HBAP employees, the program created a platform for direct interaction between the company and the surrounding communities, strengthening relationships built on mutual respect and trust.
Each gathering featured a tausiyah delivered by respected religious scholars from Muara Enim Regency, offering reflections on unity, gratitude, and the importance of maintaining harmony within the community during the holy month.
As part of the program, HBAP also provided support to the mosques based on the specific needs of each community. Three villages received generator sets (gensets) to support religious and community activities, while Masjid At-Taqwa 1 in Penyandingan received a vacuum cleaner to assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the mosque. This support forms part of the company’s contribution to surrounding communities and is expected to provide lasting benefits beyond the Ramadan period.
A representative of the local community, Mr. Syafri, Head of Pulau Panggung Village, expressed his appreciation for HBAP’s continued commitment to engaging with surrounding villages during Ramadan.
“We sincerely appreciate HBAP for consistently organizing Ramadan Safari activities in the ring-1 villages every year. These activities bring a positive impact and strengthen the relationship between the company and the community. We hope that similar activities can be held more frequently, not only during Ramadan but also at other times, so that the benefits can be felt even more by the community,” he stated.
The events concluded with communal iftar gatherings, where residents and company representatives shared the moment of breaking the fast together. These moments of togetherness symbolized the close relationship between HBAP and the communities living around the company’s operational area.
Through the Ramadan Safari initiative, HBAP continues to demonstrate its commitment to fostering sustainable community engagement and supporting social and religious life in surrounding villages. More than a series of visits, the program reflects the company’s ongoing effort to grow together with the communities and create positive, long-term social impact.
